Cookie settings

What the website stores in your browser, the advertising tags it only loads with your consent, and how to stay in control.

01How it works

A cookie, or more broadly a tracker, is a piece of information stored in your browser or read from your device. The makelabco.com website sets no advertising or measurement cookie without your consent. Only the Google Ads tags, which measure the visits that come from our ads, ask for that consent: that’s what the banner shown on your first visit is for.

02Cookie-free audience measurement

We measure website traffic with Plausible, a European tool that sets no cookies and collects no data that could identify you: it only produces aggregate statistics (pages viewed, referring site, device type, country). Measurements go through the website’s own address (makelabco.com) before being passed on to Plausible. This measurement doesn’t require your consent.

03Booking calendar (Cal.com)

If you choose to schedule a call, a Cal.com calendar loads at that moment, and only then. Cal.com’s privacy policy applies to it. It doesn’t load on any other page of the website.

04Storage the website needs to work

This information stays in your browser and only serves the feature you’re using. It isn’t a cookie, it isn’t continuously sent to us, and it doesn’t require consent.

Questionnaire in progress (ml_questionnaire_v5)
Your answers, so you can pick up where you left off. Erased as soon as your request is sent successfully.
Where your visit came from (ml_utm, ml_attribution)
Campaign parameters from the landing URL (utm), the click identifier of a Google ad if there is one (gclid, gbraid or wbraid) and the first page viewed, attached to your request if you send it. Nothing is passed on unless you send it. Erased when you close the tab.
Page that led you to the questionnaire (ml_origine)
The button or link you used to open the questionnaire (header, home page, a project page…), so we know which pages help. Nothing that identifies you. Erased when you close the tab.
Your cookie choice (ml_consent_v1)
The categories you accepted or declined, and the date of your choice. Kept for 6 months, then the banner asks you again.
Request already counted (ml_conversions)
The technical number of the requests already reported to Google Tag Manager from this tab, so a request is only counted once. Erased when you close the tab.

05Trackers that require your consent

They are used to measure advertising campaigns: knowing whether a visit from a Google ad ends in a request. Google Tag Manager, the tool that loads the Google Ads tags, loads on every page, set to “denied” by default for advertising and measurement alike. Until you accept the Advertising category, no advertising cookie is set and your email address is never passed on, not even hashed.

06Your choices

Nothing is set before you choose, and declining is as easy as accepting. You can change your mind at any time: the “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page, or the button below, reopens your preferences. Withdrawing consent erases these tags' cookies on makelabco.com and reloads the page. Your choice is kept for 6 months in this browser, then asked again.
